Xodol Drug Interactions

When certain medications -- such as anti-psychotics, other narcotics, or other products containing acetaminophen -- are combined with Xodol, drug interactions could occur. These interactions can have serious consequences and could even lead to liver failure and death. You can help avoid drug interactions with Xodol by talking to your healthcare provider before taking it with any other medications.

Xodol Drug Interactions: An Overview

Xodol™ (hydrocodone/APAP) can potentially interact with a number of other medications, especially other medications that cause drowsiness or sedation. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Xodol include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Antidepressants
  • Antihistamines (including many allergy, sleep, and motion sickness medications)
  • Antipsychotics
  • Barbiturate medications, such as:
     
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
 
 
  • Other narcotics or opiates, such as morphine (MS Contin®, MSIR®) or oxycodone (OyxIR®, OxyContin®)
  • Other products that contain acetaminophen, including many prescription and non-prescription pain killers and cold or cough products
  • Sleep medications.
