Vistaril 50 mg Capsules

Vistaril® (hydroxyzine) is a prescription medication used to treat several conditions, such as alcoholism, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, and itching. Your dosage of this drug will depend on several factors, such as the medical condition being treated, your age and weight (for children), other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are taking.
 
For example, the standard recommended oral dosage for treating anxiety in adults ranges from a 50 mg Vistaril capsule to a 100 mg Vistaril capsule four times daily.
 
Vistaril comes in various forms, including capsules, suspension (oral liquid), and injections (administered into a muscle). It is usually taken two to four times daily. It does not matter if you take Vistaril with or without food. For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed.
