Vicodin® (hydrocodone/APAP) is a prescription medicine used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. The drug is commonly abused because it is a narcotic, inexpensive, and readily available. Vicodin is usually prescribed on either an "as needed" basis or a scheduled basis. Common side effects seen with this drug include drowsiness, nausea, and constipation.
