Vicodin Risks

Although many people do not experience any problems while taking Vicodin® (hydrocodone/APAP), this medication is not free of risks. Some of the most common risks with Vicodin relate to side effects, such as:
 
If any problems do occur, they are often minor, requiring little (if any) treatment. However, there are some potentially serious problems that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience side effects such as dark urine, severe constipation, or difficulty breathing.
 
Other warnings apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies. Also, you may not be able to take Vicodin if you have certain medical conditions, such as liver disease, hypothyroidism, or a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
