Vicodin and Lexapro

Vicodin® (hydrocodone/APAP) can cause negative interactions with several medications, including Lexapro. Combining it with Lexapro (or any medication that causes drowsiness) can cause dangerous effects. Because Vicodin can cause significant drowsiness, you should not use it in combination with sleep medications, unless your healthcare provider specifically recommends that you do so.

To avoid any potentially serious complications with Vicodin, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medications you are taking (including non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements).

(Click Vicodin Drug Interactions for more information on the potentially dangerous complications that can occur when combining Lexapro and Vicodin. This article also lists other medications that may negatively interact with Vicodin and describes the problems these interactions may cause.)
