People who experience moderate to moderately severe pain often benefit from using Vicodin® (hydrocodone/APAP). This prescription medication is an effective pain reliever, as it contains hydrocodone and acetaminophen. However, Vicodin is also a narcotic and is commonly abused. Most people tolerate the drug well; even when side effects occur, they are usually minor and easily treated. Some side effects of Vicodin include drowsiness, nausea, and constipation.
