Many people may wonder when to take
tramadol hydrochloride (
Ultram®). The drug comes in tablet form and is typically taken every four to six hours as needed for pain.
You can take tramadol with or without food. If the medication bothers your stomach, try taking it with food. For tramadol to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Abruptly stopping the drug can result in withdrawal symptoms. In addition, tramadol will not work if you take it in a way other than how your healthcare provider prescribes.
If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or tramadol dosing in general, please talk with your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking the drug without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.
