Tramadol hydrochloride (tramadol HCL or Ultram®) is a prescription medication approved to treat moderate to moderately severe pain. It is only approved for use in adults age 16 and older. As with any drug, side effects with are possible with tramadol HCL. Some of the common side effects seen with this drug include drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea. Prior to taking it, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about your medical history and any other medicines you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
