Side Effects of Tramadol Hydrochloride

Just like many other medications, tramadol hydrochloride (Ultram®) can cause side effects. Some of the most common side effects of tramadol hydrochloride include:
 
If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. However, there are some potentially serious side effects with tramadol hydrochloride that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience problems such as hallucinations, seizures, or difficulty breathing.
 
Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any tramadol hydrochloride side effects or if something "just does not seem right." Even if the problem is not caused by the medication, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
