Toradol Drug Class

Toradol® (ketorolac tromethamine) is a medication licensed to treat pain. Specifically, this prescription medication is approved for the short-term treatment of moderate-to-severe pain following a procedure or due to other problems, such as kidney stones or back pain.

Toradol belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medications work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones, called prostaglandins, which cause inflammation and pain in the body.

Adults using this pain medicine can only take it for five days. Although it is approved for use in children age two and older, Toradol should only be given as a single dose in children.
