Toradol and Children

If you have moderate-to-severe pain caused by certain conditions, you may benefit from Toradol® (ketorolac tromethamine). This medication is available in several forms, all of which are only available with a prescription.

Toradol is approved for use in adults and children as young as two years old. However, when using this medication in children, Toradol should only be given in single doses.

As a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), this medicine works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones, called prostaglandins, which cause inflammation and pain in the body. It is thought that blocking the effects of prostaglandins is what makes Toradol useful for alleviating pain.
