Symptoms of an overdose with Talacen (acetaminophen and pentazocine) can vary but may include slow or irregular breathing, liver damage, and even death. Because an overdose on this drug can be quite dangerous, seek immediate medical attention if you believe you have taken too much of this drug. Treatment options may include administering an antidote, pumping the stomach, and providing supportive care.

Can You Take Too Much Talacen?

Talacen® (acetaminophen and pentazocine) is a prescription pain reliever that combines an opioid narcotic medication (pentazocine) with acetaminophen (Tylenol®), a non-narcotic pain reliever. It is approved to treat mild-to-moderate pain.

As with most medications, it is possible to take too much Talacen. The specific effects of an overdose may vary, depending on a number of factors, including the Talacen dosage and whether it was taken with any other medications or substances.
