A healthcare provider may prescribe
Savella™ (
milnacipran hydrochloride) 12.5 mg tablets to treat
fibromyalgia. This medication is taken by mouth, usually twice a day. However, your exact dosage will be based on several factors, such as how you respond to Savella, other medications you are taking, and other medical conditions you may have.
Savella is typically started with a low dose and then slowly increased. The standard recommended dose is as follows:
- Day 1 -- 12.5 mg Savella tablets once daily
- Days 2 and 3 -- 12.5 mg Savella tablets twice daily
- Days 4 through 7 -- 25 mg Savella tablets twice daily
- Day 7 and beyond -- 50 mg Savella tablets twice daily.
