Savella™ (
milnacipran hydrochloride) is available in four strengths -- Savella 100 mg tablets are the highest strength available. In general, the typical recommended dose for treating
fibromyalgia pain is 50 mg tablets twice daily.
If necessary, your healthcare provider may increase your dose up to Savella 100 mg twice daily, if 50 mg twice daily is not sufficient to relieve your
fibromyalgia symptoms. However, your exact dosage will be based on several factors, such as how you respond to Savella, other medications you are taking, and other medical conditions you may have.
Do not stop taking Savella suddenly, as this could lead to withdrawal symptoms. If you need to stop taking the medication, be sure to work closely with your healthcare provider to determine a schedule for gradually decreasing your dosage.
