Relafen Safety

Relafen^® (nabumetone) is a prescription drug licensed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis symptoms. Specifically, it can help relieve pain, stiffness, swelling, and inflammation caused by these types of arthritis. Although most people have no problems during treatment, there are some important safety issues with Relafen to keep in mind.

For example, as with any drug, side effects are possible with Relafen. Most are mild and easily treated; however, there are serious side effects to watch out for, such as allergic reactions, stomach or intestinal problems, and vomiting blood. If you develop any of these potentially serious reactions, contact your healthcare provider right away.

To ensure your safety with Relafen, it is important not to exceed the recommended dosage without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision. Also, as a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), Relafen can cause several potentially serious conditions, such as heart attacks, strokes, kidney damage, and high blood pressure.
