Relafen Risks

Relafen® (nabumetone) is a drug approved for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Although it is not a cure for these conditions, it can help treat pain, swelling, inflammation, and other symptoms. Although most people have no problems during treatment, there are some important risks with Relafen you should be aware of.

For instance, Relafen has been reported to cause cardiovascular events such as a heart attack or stroke, both of which can result in loss of life. Also, this drug can cause several other potentially serious complications, including high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and liver damage. To decrease the chances of these problems occurring, it is best to take the smallest effective dose for the shortest period.

Side effects are also possible a risk with Relafen. Common ones include constipation, headaches, and nausea. In rare cases, potentially serious side effects, such as allergic reactions, chest pain, or slurred speech, can occur.
