Relafen Drug Interactions (Cont.)

Other Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Using these pain relievers with Relafen can increase the risk of bleeding. Acetaminophen (Tylenol®) products can be safely used.

Aspirin
Aspirin and Relafen can be used together; however, studies have indicated that the chances are higher for stomach ulcers when these medicines are combined. Talk with your healthcare provider about using aspirin and Relafen together.

ACE Inhibitors (Accupril, Lotensin, Vasotec, Altace, Zestril, Prinivil, Monopril, Capoten)
Relafen may inhibit the blood pressure-lowering effects of ACE inhibitors. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

Diuretics (Torsemide [Demadex], Furosemide [Lasix], Hydrochlorothiazide)
Relafen may reduce the activity of diuretics. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

Lithium (Eskalith, Lithane, Lithonate, Lithotabs)
Taking Relafen and lithium together may increase the levels of lithium in your body by decreasing the removal of lithium by the kidneys. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs and monitor the level of lithium in your blood.

Methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall)
If you are taking both methotrexate and Relafen, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely. He or she may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune)
Taking Relafen and cyclosporine together may increase the chances of kidney damage. If you are taking cyclosporine along with Relafen, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely. He or she may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
