Propoxphene

Propoxyphene (Darvon®, Darvon-N®) is a medicine licensed for the treatment of mild-to-moderate pain. As a narcotic medication, it is classified as a controlled substance and is a desired drug of abuse. The medicine, which is available by prescription only, comes in capsule and tablet form and is taken every four hours as needed for pain (but not to exceed six capsules or tablets in 24 hours). Side effects can include drowsiness and nausea.
