Percocet® is a narcotic drug used for the treatment of pain. It is actually made up of two medications (acetaminophen and oxycodone hydrochloride). Percocet is often prescribed "as needed," which means you do not need to take a dose if you do not feel pain. However, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so. Possible side effects of the medication include drowsiness, nausea, and constipation.
