Relafen Medication Information
Relafen® (nabumetone) is a prescription medication approved to relieve symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. By blocking the effects of certain hormones in the body (prostaglandins), this drug can help alleviate pain, inflammation, stiffness, and other symptoms associated with arthritis and other painful conditions.
Relafen comes in tablet form and in two strengths. Several factors will affect the amount of Relafen you are prescribed, so it is important that your healthcare provider has information on any other medications you are taking and any other medical conditions you may have.
Possible side effects of Relafen include diarrhea, headaches, and nausea. This medication can also increase your risk of dangerous bleeding, so contact your healthcare provider right away if you have blood in your urine or stools, are vomiting blood, or if you develop red or purple spots on the skin.
