Opana ER Drug Information

Opana® ER (oxymorphone ER) is prescribed for around-the-clock treatment of moderate-to-severe pain. This medication is a type of opioid narcotic and is approved for use in adults only.
 
Opana ER comes as an extended-release tablet that is taken twice daily, with about 12 hours between doses. Make sure to take your dose on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after eating.
 
Information your healthcare provider needs when prescribing Opana ER includes a list of all other medicines you are taking, including nonprescription drugs and supplements, and any other medical conditions you have.
