Naprosyn Medication Information

Naprosyn® (
naproxen) is a drug used to treat pain, stiffness, inflammation, and fever. It is available with a prescription only and comes in two forms: Naprosyn (immediate-release) and EC-Naprosyn® (delayed-release).

As a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), this medication works by inhibiting the action of prostaglandins, which are hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. It comes in tablet or liquid form, and is typically taken no more than twice daily

Although the medication is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before taking Naprosyn, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, let your healthcare provider know if you have certain health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
