ibuprofen) is a drug used to reduce mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever. It is available in prescription and nonprescription strengths and comes in various forms, including tablets, caplets, and an oral suspension (liquid). Motrin is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (
NSAID). It works by inhibiting the action of prostaglandins, which are hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
