Metaxalone Medication Information

Available in the form of a tablet, metaxalone (Skelaxin®) is a prescription drug used to treat muscle spasms. This muscle relaxant is approved for short-term use, along with rest, physical therapy, and other treatments for painful muscle spasms. This drug comes in tablet form and is typically taken three or four times a day. People taking metaxalone may be less likely to experience drowsiness and grogginess, compared to people taking other muscle relaxants.
