Hydrocodone/APAP Medication Info
Hydrocodone/APAP (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is a prescription pain medication. It comes in a few different forms (tablets, capsules, and syrup) and in several strengths. Many different brand-name versions are available, including:
Hydrocodone/APAP is typically used for short-term pain caused by an injury, surgery, or dental procedure. However, it is sometimes used to treat chronic pain, migraines, or other types of recurring, long-term conditions that cause pain.
Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using hydrocodone/APAP, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, let your healthcare provider know if you have problems such as liver disease, kidney disease, or a head injury.
