Celecoxib (Celebrex)

People who experience pain and inflammation due to conditions like
 arthritis, muscle injury, or painful menstrual periods may find relief with celecoxib (Celebrex®). This prescription medication has been licensed to treat several conditions related to pain and inflammation, and belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs for short. It is a specific type of NSAID known as a COX-2 inhibitor.
 
Although it is not a cure for arthritis, this medication can help relieve pain, stiffness, and swelling associated with many different types of arthritis, including:
 
Available in four strengths, celecoxib comes in capsule form and is taken once or twice a day, depending on the condition being treated. It is usually taken with a glass of water, with or without food. It's important to take the lowest effective dose for the shortest amount of time possible. This will help ensure a safe treatment process and minimize the risk of serious side effects.
