Opana ER

What If I Take an Overdose?

An overdose may be quite dangerous. Fatal overdoses with this medication have been reported. If you happen to overdose on Opana ER, seek immediate medical attention.

How Should This Medicine Be Stored?

Opana ER tablets should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children. Because Opana ER is a highly desired drug of abuse, make sure to keep it in a safe place.

Dispose of any unused tablets by flushing them down the toilet. If your area has a safer way to dispose of medications (many cities do), such as a drug take-back program, consider using these methods. However, in some cases, drug take-back programs only operate a few times a year, in which case it is probably safer to flush the medication.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you forget a dose and it is almost time for your next dose, it may be best to simply skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.

However, if it is still awhile until your next scheduled dose, it may be a good idea to take your missed dose as soon as possible to prevent excessive pain. However, you will then need to adjust your normal schedule for taking the medication, such that you do not take the next dose too soon.

Alternatively, you could use your breakthrough pain medication (a short-acting pain medication) to get you through until your next scheduled Opana ER dosage.
