Norco Strengths

There is no single standard dose for Norco® (hydrocodone/APAP). Rather, a few different strengths of Norco are available: 5/325, 7.5/325, and 10/325. The first number refers to the amount of hydrocodone in the product, and the second number refers to the amount of APAP, also known as acetaminophen, in milligrams (mg). It is important not to take more than 4000 mg of acetaminophen in a day, so take other sources into account (like Tylenol®) when you are taking Norco.

The Norco strength you are prescribed will depend on various factors, such as if you are taking any other medications (especially any others that contain acetaminophen) and how you respond to Norco initially. Your healthcare provider may increase or decrease this amount, if needed, if it isn't working as well as you had hoped or if you experience bothersome side effects.
