Norco Drug Interactions

When antidepressants, antihistamines, or alcoholic beverages are combined with Norco, drug interactions could potentially occur. These negative interactions can increase your risk of developing serious side effects, such as extreme drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Other medications that may cause drug interactions with Norco include barbiturates, sleep medicines, and other narcotics or opiates.

 

Norco Interactions: An Overview

Norco® (hydrocodone/APAP) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Norco drug interactions include:
 

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

  • Benzodiazepines, such as:

 

 

  • Other acetaminophen products, including many prescription and non-prescription pain killers and cold or cough products
  • Other narcotics or opiates, such as morphine (MS Contin®, MSIR®) or oxycodone (OyxIR®, OxyContin®)
  • Sleep medications.
