Naprosyn and Children
If you have pain, stiffness, or inflammation caused by certain conditions, you may benefit from Naprosyn® (naproxen). This prescription medication is available in the form of tablets or a liquid, and comes in several strengths. Naprosyn is approved for use in adults and children, and is typically taken no more than twice a day.
When treating juvenile arthritis symptoms in children, Naprosyn should not be used in anyone younger than two years old.
As a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), this medication works by blocking the action of certain hormones in the body that cause pain and inflammation. As a result, Naprosyn can help:
- Alleviate pain related to bone, muscle, or tendon injury or inflammation
- Reduce fever
- Reduce pain and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis and other conditions.
