Pain relief. Naprosyn can relieve pain following a medical procedure, as well as pain caused by straining a muscle or inflammation in a tendon (tendonitis) or bursa (bursitis). Naprosyn can also be used to treat general pain, such as lower back pain, neck pain, or knee pain.
Naprosyn is also available in a delayed-release form -- EC-Naprosyn® (naproxen delayed-release). Naprosyn and EC-Naprosyn were originally developed by Roche Laboratories. They have since come off patent, making them available as generics.
