Side Effects of EC-Naprosyn

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with EC-Naprosyn. Yet, not everyone who takes EC-Naprosyn will experience side effects. When people do develop EC-Naprosyn side effects, in most cases they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.
 
Common side effects with EC-Naprosyn can include:
 
  • Heartburn
  • Abdominal pain (or stomach pain)
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Itching
  • Unexplained rash
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fluid retention.
     
Some less common but serious side effects include:
 
  • Cardiovascular problems, including a heart attack or stroke
  • Stomach or intestinal problems, including bleeding, ulcers, or a hole (known as a perforation)
  • Liver damage
  • Kidney problems, including kidney failure
  • Fluid retention
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Allergic reactions
  • Unexplained rash.
     
These possible side effects are shared with all NSAIDs and can lead to life-threatening complications or even loss of life.
