Side Effects of EC-Naprosyn

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with EC-Naprosyn. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
 
Common side effects seen with EC-Naprosyn can include:
 
  • Heartburn
  • Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Itching
  • Unexplained rash
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fluid retention.
     
Some less common but serious side effects include:
 
  • Cardiovascular problems, including a heart attack or stroke
  • Stomach or intestinal problems, including bleeding, ulcers, or a hole (known as a perforation)
  • Liver damage
  • Kidney problems, including kidney failure
  • Fluid retention
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Allergic reactions
  • Unexplained rash.
     
These reactions are shared with all NSAIDs and can lead to life-threatening complications or even loss of life.
