Drug Interactions With Naprosyn (Cont.)

Cholestyramine (Prevalite, Questran, Questran Light, LoCholest)
Cholestyramine can bind to Naprosyn in the digestive tract and decrease its absorption into the body. Naprosyn should be taken at least one hour before or four to six hours after cholestyramine has been given to avoid this drug interaction.

Beta Blockers
Naprosyn may inhibit the blood pressure-lowering effects of beta blockers. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

Probenecid (Benemid, Probalan)
Taking probenecid and Naprosyn together may increase the levels of Naprosyn in the blood. Therefore, your healthcare provider may recommend a lower dose of Naprosyn and monitor you more closely.

Corticosteroids
Using corticosteroids with Naprosyn can increase the risk of bleeding. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely or adjust your dose of these drugs.

Herbal and/or Nutritional Supplements
Several herbal and nutritional supplements can also interact with Naprosyn and may increase the risk of bleeding. If you are taking any natural or herbal supplements, make sure to discuss this with your healthcare provider before starting Naprosyn therapy.
