People who suffer from moderate to severe pain may benefit from MS Contin® (morphine sulfate ER). This prescription drug is an extended-release medication, which provides a steady release of morphine over an extended period of time. As a result, MS Contin is not designed for use on an "as needed" basis, but rather on a continuous schedule (typically two or three times a day). Seek medical attention immediately if you happen to overdose on this medication. Symptoms of an overdose include limp muscles, a slow heart rate, or difficulty breathing.
