MS Contin Drug Interactions

Taking certain medications in combination with MS Contin may result in dangerous complications. Some of these MS Contin drug interactions can increase your risk of side effects, such as difficulty breathing, confusion, and drowsiness. Among the medications that may cause negative interactions with MS Contin include antidepressants, antihistamines, antipsychotic medications, and barbiturates. To avoid complications, make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking.

MS Contin® (morphine sulfate ER) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to MS Contin interactions include:

    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)

  • Muscle relaxants, such as:

 

 

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:
