Motrin Oral

If you have pain, fever, or inflammation, you may benefit from Motrin® (ibuprofen). This medication is available with or without a prescription and is used to treat several conditions and symptoms, such as:

  • Pain related to bone, muscle, or tendon injury or inflammation
  • Fever
  • Pain and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis and other conditions.

Motrin is available as an oral suspension or in the form of tablets or caplets. It is important to take the lowest effective dose for the least amount of time in order to treat your condition. This will decrease the chances of developing serious side effects. Do not take the nonprescription medication for more than 10 days for pain relief or 3 days for fever unless your healthcare provider recommends it.

Although most people tolerate this medication well, it is not suitable for everyone. Possible side effects include nausea, dizziness, and heartburn.
