Liquid Motrin

Motrin® (ibuprofen) is a medication licensed to treat several symptoms, including pain, inflammation, fever, and/or stiffness. It is also effective at treating painful menstrual periods, as well as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. Motrin works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Motrin comes in the form of a liquid (oral suspension), tablet, or caplet. To reduce the risk of serious side effects, it is important to take the lowest effective dose for the least amount of time in order to treat your condition. Do not take the nonprescription strength for more than 10 days for pain relief or 3 days for fever unless your healthcare provider recommends it.
The liquid form of Motrin is available in two strengths:
  • Motrin 50 mg/1.25 mL oral solution -- 1.25 mL contains 50 mg of Motrin
  • Motrin 100 mg/5mL oral solution -- one teaspoon (5 mL) contains 125 mg of Motrin.
