Drug Interactions With Motrin

Medicines such as ACE inhibitors or diuretics may cause drug interactions with Motrin. These interactions can decrease the effectiveness of the drugs or cause certain side effects, including stomach ulcers or severe bleeding. Other medications that may potentially cause drug interactions with Motrin include corticosteroids, methotrexate, and aspirin.

Warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven)
If you are taking other blood thinners, such as warfarin, while taking Motrin, your body may metabolize them differently than intended. You healthcare provider may choose to monitor your INR and prothrombin time more frequently and adjust accordingly. INR and prothrombin time are tests used to measure how well you blood is clotting.
