Meloxicam (Mobic®) is approved to treat pain, inflammation, and joint swelling associated with certain types of arthritis and other painful conditions. Because this prescription medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), it works by inhibiting certain hormones that cause pain and inflammation in the body. Make sure to seek immediate medical attention if you think you may have overdosed on this medication. Some signs of a meloxicam overdose can include vomiting, convulsions, and excessive sleepiness.
