Meloxicam Drug Class

A prescription product, meloxicam (Mobic®) belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (or NSAIDs). This drug is used to treat pain, inflammation, swelling, and/or stiffness caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The medication works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

It's important to understand that meloxicam is not a cure for arthritis, nor does it slow down the progression of the disease.
