Meloxicam (Mobic) Pain Medicine

If you have certain
types of arthritis, you may benefit from a pain medicine called meloxicam (Mobic®). This prescription medication is specifically approved to treat pain, inflammation, swelling, and/or stiffness caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Meloxicam is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (or NSAID) and works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

This pain reliever comes in the form of a tablet or liquid. It is important to take the lowest effective dose for the least amount of time in order to treat your condition. This will decrease the chances of serious side effects occurring.

Although most people tolerate this painkiller well, meloxicam is not suitable for everyone. Possible side effects include headaches, diarrhea, and nausea.
