Meloxicam? Meloxan is a common misspelling of meloxicam.
People who experience pain, inflammation, and joint swelling caused by certain conditions may benefit from meloxicam (Mobic®). Specifically, the medication has been licensed for the relief of symptoms associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. This drug is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and it works by inhibiting hormones that cause pain and inflammation in the body. As with any drug, there are possible side effects with meloxicam, such as headaches, indigestion, and respiratory infections. Among the conditions that you should let your healthcare provider know about before taking it include heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
