Meloxicam (Mobic®) is licensed to treat pain, inflammation, and swelling caused by various forms of arthritis (such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis). As a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), it works by inhibiting certain hormones that cause pain and inflammation in the body. This prescription medication is available as a tablet or in liquid form. Prior to taking meloxicam, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about your medical history and any other medicines you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
