Pain Home > Sumatriptan/Naproxen Sodium

Sumatriptan/naproxen sodium is a combination drug approved for treating migraine headaches. It contains sumatriptan, which works by narrowing the blood vessels in the head that become dilated during a migraine, and naproxen, which helps to relieve migraine pain by inhibiting the production of inflammatory chemicals. Sumatriptan/naproxen sodium comes in tablet form and should be taken as soon as possible once a migraine starts.

What Is Sumatriptan/Naproxen Sodium?

Sumatriptan/naproxen sodium (Treximet™) is a prescription medication that is used to treat migraine headaches. It will not help to prevent migraines but can help treat a migraine that is already occurring. Sumatriptan/naproxen sodium contains two different medications to help relieve migraine pain.
