Barbiturates
Combining a barbiturate with Embeda can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Embeda with a barbiturate.

Benzodiazepines
Taking Embeda in combination with a benzodiazepine might increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Embeda with any benzodiazepines.

Cimetidine
There is one report of confusion and severe breathing difficulty in a person who combined cimetidine with morphine (the active ingredient in Embeda). It is not clear if cimetidine interacts with morphine. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Diuretics
Embeda may reduce the effectiveness of diuretics. Additionally, in men with an enlarged prostate, this combination of medications may lead to severe difficulty passing urine.

Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Combining Embeda with an MAOI can cause serious reactions. Do not use Embeda and an MAOI within 14 days of each other.

Muscle Relaxants
Taking Embeda with a muscle relaxant may increase the risk of side effects due to both medications. Check with your healthcare provider before combing Embeda with a muscle relaxant.

Other Narcotics or Opiates
Use extreme caution when combining Embeda with other narcotics or opiates, as serious side effects could occur. You should only use these medications together with your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.
