Darvocet® (propoxyphene/acetaminophen) is a narcotic medication that is available by prescription only. It is licensed to treat mild-to-moderate pain, with or without a fever. The medicine comes in tablet form and is available in three different strengths; it is typically taken every four hours as needed for pain. Before you start taking it, you should talk to your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or have depression, liver disease, or a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
