Problems With Lortab
As with many other medications, Lortab® (hydrocodone/APAP) can cause problems. Some of the most common problems with this drug include side effects, such as:
If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor and easy to treat. However, there are some potentially serious problems with Lortab that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience problems such as:
- Severe constipation
- Severe drowsiness
- Signs of liver damage, such as yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin, dark urine, or upper-right abdominal (stomach) pain
- Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing.
Other warnings and precautions apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies (including allergies to foods, dyes, or preservatives). Also, you may not be able to take Lortab if you have certain medical conditions, such as liver disease, hypothyroidism, or a lung disease of any sort.
