Lortab Oral

Lortab® (hydrocodone/APAP) is a prescription medicine licensed for the treatment of moderate to moderately severe pain. It is most often used to relieve short-term pain (such as pain from an injury, surgery, or dental procedure) but can also be used to treat chronic pain, migraines, cancer pain, or other recurring or long-term conditions that cause pain.

There are two different forms of the drug: oral Lortab tablets and an elixir version of Lortab. This medication is either taken "as needed" or on a scheduled basis. "As needed" means you will only take a dose if you are experiencing pain (if you are not in pain, you will skip the dose), while "scheduled use" means you should take it on schedule, even if you are not in pain. Most healthcare providers prescribe Lortab on an "as needed" basis and recommend taking it every four to six hours as needed for pain.
