Lortab 10/500 Tablets

When treating pain with Lortab® (hydrocodone/APAP), your healthcare provider will consider several factors, such as how you respond to Lortab, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are currently taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).

For instance, if your healthcare provider prescribes 10/500 Lortab tablets, the typical dosage is one tablet every four to six hours as needed for pain. However, the maximum dosage for this strength of Lortab should not exceed six tablets per day. The maximum recommended Lortab dosages are designed to limit the total dose of acetaminophen to 4 grams (4000 mg) a day or less. Higher doses of acetaminophen increase the risk of serious liver damage.

For the drug to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. Do not increase your dose without your healthcare provider's approval. Do not suddenly stop taking Lortab, especially if you have taken it regularly for more than several weeks.
