Lortab® is a prescription medication approved to treat moderate to moderately severe pain. Since it contains a narcotic (hydrocodone), it is classified as a controlled substance. Lortab comes in the form of tablets and an elixir and is available in a number of different strengths. Most people tolerate the medication well, but potential side effects include constipation, drowsiness, nausea, and lightheadedness.
